The Coopers Edge Trust was formed in 2009 initially in response to a consultation on whether a primary school was needed in Coopers Edge.
In partnership with the Robinswood Trust the group was successfully awarded the opportunity to establish the school in 2010.
The group continues to work with the school, however the remit grew wider in response to residents needs, the challenges of a new estate, six different councils being involved and builders with s106 commitments to maintain. We have helped coordinate residents feedback on this issues, run community surveys and facilitated volunteering days and run community trips and fetes.
As the estate had grown we have also provided seed funding for new groups including the WI, Coopers Edge FC and Coopers Edge Cricket Club.
In 2015 we were appointed by Stroud District Council to run @theedge, Coopers Edge Community Centre which is run on a not for profit basis to provide as much community access as possible.
